Ideas for initiatives, your own questions, perspectives and aims are brought into focus and exchanged with others. What do you want to achieve? With whom? What are initiatives and why are they so important? And – how do we bring them into reality?

Together we design a plan on the basis of the answers that have been worked out through what has been shared. This takes place over 5 further weekends. A kind of learning program. Themes are listed and combined, and the group then sets a theme for each weekend. Responsibility for each of the weekends is then given over to each participant in turn. One or other of the themes might well need a guest speaker or workshop leader. We also try to get funding for the program so as to be able to pay for rental of facilities, lecturers, transport, food and so on.

Some of the themes covered in previous IDTs:
Community Building, Fundraising, Journalism and Bookkeeping, The Global Perspective, Practical Skills, Project Management.

A common project can be taken on by the group if so desired, for example a workcamp.

The IDT is experiencing its third run with a new group. At the moment the program is only available in Central Europe and takes place largely in the German language.

An extension of this idea in the form of a concentrated 1-week course is being worked on at the moment for early 2008.

We are preparing a program for potential Workcamp Leaders. There are many people who want to organise a workcamp or help in the organisation, but who are not necessarily fit to then lead a group of people in a building project in some foreign country. The course is designed for this situation. As well as that many schools approach us with the question, if we could accompany classes on their social practicals or in workcamps with classes. Special skills are neededfor that!

Some of the themes we shall deal with are Group Facilitation, Intercultural Communication, Gloablisation and its Challenges, Sustainable Developmental Cooperation, as well as games and other methods to implement these.
